A couple days before Hayley Williams kicked off her solo “Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party” Tour in Atlanta, a lifelong friend (and concert buddy) of mine asked if I would be willing to attend a concert for a college assignment. Our original plan was to attend a different show, as we had no hope in attending either of Hayley’s sold out shows, but the universe had something else in mind.
I had hoped to attend the tour back when the tickets were in presale, but ended up 10,000+ place in line and gave up before I had any luck. Somehow we secured two tickets to the opening night at the Tabernacle through Seat Geek [not sponsored, obviously… I wish though ;)] which honestly were a lot more reasonable than I originally thought and were able to snag some balcony seats!
Whenever I attend a show without a photo pass, I always feel awkward getting balcony seats because I’m either using my iPhone or my point & shoot from wherever I stand/sit, and low light zoom shots usually don’t pan out the way I expect. The only other time I did this was when I attended Ethel Cain’s concert in August 2025, and got a few good ones- one of which turned out way better than expected for a photo taken from across the theatre.
Anyway, here are my shots from the show (which was phenomenal, might I add) taken with my Sony RX100 at 200mm. While they aren’t as crisp as my trusty (and ancient) Nikon D750, they’re just enough to satisfy the photography itch I get whenever I’m attending a concert.
